This week children will celebrate National Storytelling Week in school.
Children love to be read to and this week they will have opportunities to engage with extra stories which they can retell in their own words.
Storytelling puts the whole brain to work. It supports creativity, empathy, sequencing and story structure knowledge. Pictures in books help with visual literacy skills, improving vocabulary, and overall comprehension.
