Welcome ...to the ‘Step Out with Skooter & Hattie’, Stage 1 workbook. This is part of the Practical Child Pedestrian Safety Training Scheme - there are workbooks for Stage 1, 2, and 3.
Before you begin Stage 1, allow the children to complete the first Road Safety Quiz (1a). Then, as you work through the lessons, get them to try the activities and colour in the worksheets associated with the topics. To help with the learning process, discuss road safety when out walking with your child.
To complete Stage 1 allow the children to complete the second Road Safety Quiz (1b) at the back of the booklet. This will give you an indication of their knowledge and understanding of the road safety issues, both ‘before and after.’
